Cross Country Trains is a train operating company owned by Arriva UK trains. It mainly runs intercity and long-distance trains; though it does not run into London. The company has 97 trains in total, which call at 120 stations. All routes travel via Birmingham New Street. The new Cross Country franchise has been in operation since July 2007.

Delay Repay
If your train is delayed or cancelled, you can claim compensation from Cross Country. The amount you are entitled to depends on how late you arrive at your destination, as follows:
30 – 59 minutes: 50% of the cost of a single ticket or 50% of the cost of either leg of a return ticket
60 minutes or more: 100% of the cost of a single ticket, or 100% of the cost of either leg of a return ticket
2 hours or more for return tickets: 100% of the cost of the return ticket
