Dundee Train Station is one of only two mainline train stations in Dundee city centre, along with Broughty Ferry Station, the oldest railway station in Scotland still in operation. Dundee Railway Station is the much larger of the two stations, serving 1.45 million passengers in 2022-23 with 68,000 interchanges.
Dundee Train Station is situated on South Union Street to the south of the city, just a few hundred metres North of the River Tay and a few miles east of Dundee Airport. Several landmarks are within walking distance of Dundee Train Station, including V&A Dundee, Overgate Shopping Centre, and Dundee Science Centre.
Dundee Train Station was initially opened in 1878 as Dundee Tay Bridge Railway Station and was renamed Dundee Train Station in 1965. Dundee Train Station was rebuilt in 2018 on the site of the old station.
