Trains to Manchester Airport Station

Manchester Airport Station is located within the Manchester Airport Complex, managed by Manchester Airport Group, around 10 Miles south of Manchester Piccadilly. You can access the terminals directly from the station via an escalator, lift, ramps, and an elevated walkway known as the "sky link". The train station is situated between Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. You will also find a ground transport interchange at the train station with an adjacent bus station, tram station, and coach station. The entrance to the train station is located on Malaga Avenue, from where you can take an escalator or lift to the upper concourse. If you are travelling to Manchester Airport to take a flight from elsewhere in the UK, regular trains to Manchester are running from Manchester Piccadilly Railway Station.

The Station is the UK's 101st busiest National Rail Station and the 3rd busiest airport train station in the UK, with 4.9 million entries and exits in 2023-24 and 488,000 interchanges.

The station was opened at the same time as the airport's second terminal, in 1993. TransPennine Express manages the train station and is one of the operators that runs National Rail Services to the station from Saltburn, Carlisle, Edinburgh Waverley, and Glasgow Central. Northern Trains operates services to the airport from Blackpool North, Barrow-in-Furness, Windermere, Liverpool Lime Street, Manchester Piccadilly, and Crewe. Transport for Wales operates trains from Chester, Llandudno, and Holyhead to the airport.
